Kudoo’s to Sevy’s for a wonderful evening with members the NCA Dine-Around!
NCA members were greeted in typical Texas-style… a warm welcome, introductions, and a table for eight decorated with red rose petals and candles. The contemporary and fun atmosphere lended itself to great conversation and a casual ease. The General Manager and Owner, Jimmie Fell, explained that the restaurant, located in the upscale Park Cities neighborhood on Preston Road, had been there for fourteen years. Sevy’s is an American Grill and serves a variety of entrees. The decor is a contemporary design and offers French doors which lead out to a patio. Then the Executive Chef and owner, Jim Severson, (Sevy is Jim Severson’s nickname) visited with everyone at the table for some rich humor, glimmer in his eye, and laughter. He is an avid golfer and keeps his golf shoes on in case someone offers him a tee time!
We do it bigger in Texas and Sevy’s was big on smiles, service, and food.
We were offered a three – course meal with wine pairings. There was a choice of entrees and everyone order the steak of course since they were in Texas. One especially rave review came from one of the guests of a NCA member. She loves food and sauces and eats out often in her home state of Minnesota. Her comment was “this is the best meal I have had in years” . We also had a sampler appetizer with Sevy’s signature calamari, portabella mushroom, mini-crab cakes and all the sauces. Dessert was also a sampler and decadent!
We left with a great goody-bag which includes Jim Severson’s toasted pumpkin seed salsa, that is now selling at Central Market. There were a lot of happy faces and compliments when we departed Sevy’s!
