Members of Corporate Concierges, Inc. recently attended the 8th Annual Dallas Summer Musicals Curtain Call Gala. This year’s musical celebration entitled ” All About Tonight…All About The Kids” held at Fair Park Music Hall featured country western superstar, Blake Shelton.
Giving Kids a First Look at The Performing Arts
The event benefitted the DSM children’s outreach programs, providing an opportunity for more than 2000 children to experience live theater and get their first look at the performing arts.
The Stage Right program introduces at-risk youth ages 10-15 to arts and cultural events was created in partnership with the Dallas Police Department. Stage Right seeks to raise awareness of the arts, increase appreciation for different lifestyles and also increase self-esteem. The concert and live auction also raised money to support Seats For Kids and the DSM Academy of Performing Arts.
Blake Shelton on Stage at Fair Park Music Hall
Admittedly, I am not a country music fan, in fact I had only heard of Blake Shelton because of his appearances on The Voice. But after a few minutes of his lively vocals and the infectious beat of his songs, I was on my feet along with everyone else in the Music Hall.
Socialites in glitzy cocktail dress and the Dallas elite in tuxedos all joined together to ‘hoot & holler‘ along with Blake as he sang his hits “Hillbilly Bone“, “Honey Bee” and ” Kiss My Country xxx“. Unlike the rest of the audience, I didn’t know all the lyric to every song, even so, I especially enjoyed the ballads “Austin“, “Who Are You When I’m Not Lookin” and his version of Michael Buble’s “Home“.
