Horne & Dekker Launches ‘Sunday Supper’

Remember the good old days when you visited Grandma’s house and she would prepare a delicious Sunday Supper. The whole family would gather around the table to enjoy her fried chicken, mashed potatoes, fresh vegetables and finish the meal with homemade hot apple cobbler? Those really were the good old days.

The good old days are back! You can still gather with your friends and family to enjoy those home-style favorites at Horne & Dekker. The restaurant wants to bring families and friends back to the dinner table on Sunday nights with their weekly Sunday Supper, from 5 p.m. to 10 p.m. Sunday Supper at Horne & Dekker is a great place to end  your weekend,  with family and friends while enjoying limitless servings of classic comfort foods.

Guests will enjoy limitless servings of Finger Lickin’ Fried Chicken, Mom’s Meatloaf, or Beer Battered Fish with sides and biscuits for $15 per person. Drink and dessert specials for the occasion will also be offered including $3 Draft Beer Pints, $4 Crown Royal Shots, $5 Glasses of Wine and $3 Sweets. Fall weather has been outstanding and Horne & Dekker has now opened their glass garage door between the dining room and the patio to bring the outside “in.”

The Men Behind Horne & Dekker

Ohio-raised Shawn Horne (Five Sixty by Wolfgang Puck, Kitchen 1924, York Street, Ferré, Abacus, Green Room) brings many elements from the successful Kitchen 1924 in Lakewood and he and his partner Flynn Dekker (Fogo de Chão®), raised in Indiana, and Executive Chef Corey Smith (New Orleans, LA) have added their own twist which includes their family recipes reflecting their Midwest and NOLA roots.

Growing up, Sunday was the one day our families set aside all other activities to break bread as one. We hope to continue this tradition with our extended family here at H&D. Guests at our Sunday Supper will enjoy limitless servings of some of our families’ favorite dishes.” said Horne & Dekker.

D Magazine’s Food Editor Nancy Nichols recommends the fried chicken. “It is roasted, battered and fried. The result is moist meat covered with a light, almost tempura crust.” The Dallas Morning News’ Food Critic Leslie Brenner dedicated an entire paragraph in her blog that said, “The [fried chicken’s] flavor was pretty spectacular, the bird was roasted before it was fried and… it worked.

In addition to choice of three entrees-Finger Lickin’ Fried Chicken, Mom’s Meatloaf, and Beer Battered Fish-guests will dine ‘family-style’ with Sugar Biscuits, Fire-Roasted Sweet Corn Kernels, Braised Greens & Mashed Potatoes which are included with every meal.
