Glass Half Full Taproom is the kind of neighborhood bar where you can relax and have a craft beer after work, have lunch or meet friends for a pre-movie dinner. Located right next door to the Alamo Drafthouse, Glass Half Full is a full service bar that service freshly prepared food.
The Menu
Glass Half Full’s menu is different from the Alamo’s menu. The menu is deceptively simple. From homemade Tomato Basil and French Onion soups to a fantastic selection of freshly prepared salads, wraps, sandwiches, pizzas and calzones.
The new summer menu includes a colorful Beets & Oranges Salad, with mixed greens, pistachios, goat cheese and a nice sherry vinaigrette. Along with the popular Carnivore Pizza, loaded with pepperoni, salami, smoked bacon, italian sausage and Pecorino; they have a creamy, cheesy King Ranch Pizza.
Salads and Wraps
The salads are huge and you have your choice of adding grilled chicken, steak or tofu. You can also have any salad served as a wrap. Standouts include the Mexican Salad, with mixed greens, avocado, jicama, red onions, tortilla crisps and jalapeño lime vinaigrette. The Chopped and the Caesar salads are also delicious.
Sandwiches
Glass Half Full has a wonderful selection of Italian sandwiches. They are served in a warm, toasted roll and filled with savory meats, sauces and cheeses. The meatball sandwich was so good.
It reminded me of the ones I used to get at the Italian deli in New York. If you are in the mood for something spicy, try the Sausage and Pepper sandwich. Or maybe a little comfort food with a Tomato Basil soup and Italian Grilled Cheese sandwich combo.
Events
There are some fun weekly event at Glass Half Full. Starting with happy hour and $1 off drafts and cocktails. They also have theme nights.
Tuesday isTiki Bingo Night: A Mad Men inspired night with classic tiki cocktails, Hawaiian food and prizes.
Wednesday is Cards Against Humanity Game Night: Bring your friends or meet new ones when you gather to play the popular party game.
Thursday is Geeks Who Drink Night: Pub quiz and trivia fans will love this evening filled with pop culture questions about everything from Star Wars, Game of Throne and other nerdy stuff.
