Dinner at Cyclone Anaya’s World Class Mexican Kitchen
Several of the Dallas members of Corporate Concierge, Inc. enjoyed a wonderful dinner last week at Cyclone Anaya’s World Class Mexican Kitchen on Oak Lawn. We were treated to a wonderful cerviche from thier appetizer menu, along with chips, salsa and guacamole. Our dinner was complimented by the tasty Margaritas and was finsihed off nicely with a dessert sampler that included a positivley devine Tres Leches Cake.
Scott Smitherman, Concierge at Whole Foods Market and a Houston native has fond memeries of dinners at Cyclone Anaya’s in Houston. “It was one of my favorite places. There’s nothing like sitting on the patio with one of their famous (or infamous!) margaritas to help you forget your troubles!”
Cyclone Anaya’s World Class Mexican Kitchen has locations in Houston (Woodway, Midtown and Durham) and Dallas (Oak Lawn Avenue and Prestonwood), serves one-of-a-kind recipes, created and prepared by a family with decades of fond food memories. It was founded in 1966 in Houston by legendary wrestler Cyclone Anaya and his wife, Carolina, following his retirement from wrestling, Cyclone Anaya’s has become a Texas legacy, serving Carolina’s original homemade recipes and has remained in the family with their son and daughter, Rico Valencia and Vienna Molder. The Oak Lawn Avenue location brought the Cyclone Anaya’s brand to Dallas in March 2008, with the Prestonwood location opening soon after in October 2008. As the brand continues to grow, Cyclone Anaya’s will be opening in Allen, TX soon.

Known for dramatic, performing arts presentation, and precision managed restaurants, Cyclone Anaya’s menu offerings showcase the finest in basic and Fine Mex. Each dish is carefully prepared from scratch with “made to order” plating. The menu includes signature items such as Lobster Enchiladas in a chardonnay cream sauce, Lump Crab Nachos and Carolina’s Mixed Grill. The weekend features a delicious “breakfast through brunch menu” which includes bottomless mimosas.
Named one of D Magazine’s “Cool Places to Wine and Dine al Fresco” in April 2009, Cyclone Anaya’s patio is the place to be, whether it is enjoying happy hour after work, or celebrating the weekend with reverse happy hour on Fridays from 9 – 11 p.m. (currently at Prestonwood only)
It was delicious. Especially the dessert sampler. I will be back soon and I am bringing friends!
