Lunch and shopping…what is not to love?
Our favorite holiday family tradition is for my mother, my daughter and I to go to lunch on a Saturday on mid-December. We dress up, take photos and exchange little gifts and shop afterwards. We used to go Downtown to the Zodiac Room at Neiman Marcus years ago, but then we switched to a lovely little tea room in Downtown Plano behind Nook & Crannies for years.
Last year we went to Chocolate Angel in Richardson on Campbell near Hillcrest. Chocolate Angel is a darling place with the owners there and lots of tables celebrating similar occasions. The menu fits everyone in our three generation girls lunch. There are several unique shops right next door and just a walk across the parking lot.
The guys in my family started their own tradition. They out for burgers together and watch a football game at the same time now. Build your own holiday tradition with family and friends, you will be glad that you did.
A Christmas Carol
Seeing A Christmas Carol at The Dallas Theater Center is also welcome and long family tradition. This production really gets you in the holiday spirit.
No holiday season is complete without A Christmas Caro, the bright, funny, spooky, moving, soul-stirring, heart-warming, uplifting classic. It’s filled with traditional and original songs that will have you whistling on your way home as merrily as Mr. Fezziwig.
For the first time, longtime Dallas Theater Center favorite, Chamblee Ferguson will portray the miserly Ebenezer Scrooge. Get in the spirit with this glorious production, which helps support the North Texas Food Bank.
