Earth Day Dallas is a two-day festival (April 21-22, 2012) at Fair Park that will focus on entertaining and inspiring ways to think, work and live green in North Texas. The annual event will showcase emerging green technology, provide eco-friendly family activities, present enlightening lectures from environmental leaders and feature a variety of musical acts.
Special Guest Speaker: Mrs. Laura Bush
Mrs. Laura Bush, former first lady of the United States, will commence the 2012 festival’s Green Talk Speaker Series. Mrs. Bush will discuss her new Taking Care of Texas initiative focused on importance of land stewardship and its direct correlation to the quality of life, economic growth and ecological integrity of Texas. The series will also feature speakers who will share their knowledge about an array of environmental topics.
Entertainment
Earth Day Dallas is a family friendly event that will include a Family Zone powered by Radio Disney AM 620, with the Radio Disney AM 620 Road Crew hosting on-stage entertainment. Activities will include: teaching kids and parents how to use recycled materials for fun arts and crafts projects, not to mention interactive entertainment and prizes.
Earth Day Dallas will also have 2 days of free music, with an impressive lineup of local and national groups. Singer, Amos Lee will headline the Earth Day Dallas music festival, which will take place at the Band Shell in Dallas’ Fair Park.
The music festival will take place from 10 AM to 6 PM on Saturday, April 21 and Sunday, April 22, 2012.

Picnic for the Planet
On April 22, The Nature Conservancy will team up with Earth Day Dallas for Picnic for the Planet, a celebration of our planet, the bounty it provides and the people who work to preserve it.

- Dr. Seuss’ The Lorax.: Jimmy Tyler Brashear Elementary School will present an exciting adaptation of Dr. Seuss’ The Lorax. The performance is a timeless piece about the importance of preserving the earth’s natural beauty.http://www.tecotheater.org/
- BMX Stunt Team: Creative Sports Inc. will provide entertainment, using the vehicle of the action sports stunt show to showcase the talents of some of the top BMX stunt riders in the country. Its rider’s credits range from the “X-Games” and the “Action Sports Tour” to feature film, television and commercial stunt work.

- Ballet Folklorico: The Anita N. Martinez Ballet Folklorico is considered the largest professional Ballet Folklorico Company in the United States.
