Pink-A-Boo! It’s the most pinkatastic show to hit the boards of DFW! Dallas Children’s Theater (DCT) kicks off its 29th season in the pink with Pinkalicious The Musical, September 21 – October 21, 2012 at DCT’s Rosewood Center for Family Arts, 5938 Skillman Street, Dallas, Texas 75231.
Pinkalicious The Musical is the sparkling stage adaptation of the popular children’s book, PINKALCIOUS, and a celebration of family and love. When a little girl who loves pink bites off more than she can chew, it takes a whole lot of bravery to find her true colors again.
Director Nancy Schaeffer says, “This show rejoices in all things pink, and even better, that being yourself is the best way to be. It reveals the importance of family, and that with their love and support you can do anything.” Don’t miss this opportunity to be unique with DCT’s pink and let your light shine!

A Girl Who Loves Pink
Pinkalicious is a little girl who loves the color pink. After overindulging in pink cupcakes one evening, she turns pink overnight. When she wakes up the next morning, she is thrilled!
Her parents take her to the doctor and she is diagnosed with pinkititis – only the second case in history. On the way home, they stop at the playground but her best friend Alison doesn’t recognize her and she is attacked by birds, butterflies and bees who mistake her for a pink flower.
At home her parents try to encourage her to eat more greens, but she sneaks another cupcake while no one is looking. The next morning she wakes up red and develops pink eye pinkititis whereby she can only see the color pink. Is she brave enough to do something to fix this predicament? The Pinkerton family seems to have other secrets too – someone knows something about the first case of pinkititis…. And what is brother Peter afraid to admit?
In the end they all learn that you can have too much of a good thing, but when it comes to FAMILY there’s no such thing as too much LOVE!
DCT welcomes Emily Lockhart back to town from New York City in the role of Pinkalicious. Ms. Lockhart won “Best Actress in a Musical, Equity” at DFW’s Leon Rabin Awards for her performance as DCT’s first Junie B. Jones in 2006. Ms. Lockhart will be making an appearance as Pinkalicious in nearby DISD community gardens to present the “Pinkatastic Green Team Award” for bravely growing healthy greens.
