Williams Square  Corporate Concierge Shana Scott has a generous spirit.  With the support of the tenants  Shana has  organized several charity drives at her Las Colinas office building.  Here are just a few examples:

“Bear” the Burden Drive Stuffed Animal Drive

“Bear the Burden,” is a campaign led by Buckner Children and Family Services to collect stuffed teddy bears for abused and neglected children throughout Texas. In March, The Towers at Williams Square hosted the “Bear the Burden”Drive, by sitting a Lonely Large Brown Bear in the Lobby area, and invited tenants to find him some friends. Well he was not alone for long, and actually became quite popular. Williams Square collected over 550 stuffed toys for this drive. These animals were collected and distributed to agencies responsible for responding to a child abuse situation, as well as to both police and fire departments.

Make a Wish:Walk for Wishes

What an amazing weekend it turned out to be for such a great event. The Towers at Williams Square hosted Make a Wish Walk for Wishes. It was definitely a time for happiness and emotion as Wish families shared their experiences and conveyed how much Make-A-Wish has brought joy into their lives. As the largest wish-granting organization in the world, the mission of the Make-A-Wish Foundation® is to grant wishes to children between the ages of 2 ½ and 18 with life-threatening medical conditions to enrich the human experience with hope, strength, and joy.

Welcome Home a Hero: Greet the Troops

Every day, more than 100 soldiers come through DFW Airport on their way home for two weeks of much-anticipated rest and recuperation (R&R). Under the R&R program, American servicemen and women receive these brief vacations from tours in Iraq and Afghanistan.

The Towers at Williams Square dedicated July 18th to welcome home these members of the armed forces as they return from duty. We invited our tenants to join us in welcoming home all these amazing men and women while handing out goodie bags filled with snacks, candy to enjoy on their connecting flight and new clean socks. One R&R flight lands every day at DFW, and this warm welcome home starts their two weeks of R&R on a high note.

Referencing DFW’s 2005 Welcome Home a Hero, a solider from Bagram Air Field, Afghanistan writes: “I really don’t know how I can ever express the gratitude I feel for the homecoming you ( DFW ) gave us. It makes me prouder than ever to be a Texan, to be an American, and to be a soldier.”

Hot Dog Fundraising Picnic on the Plaza benefiting The American Cancer Society

The Towers at Williams Square hosted their Annual American Cancer Society Relay for Life Picnic on the Plaza. This fundraising event was well received by our customers/tenants and vendors as they joined together to help raise both money and awareness for cancer research and support programs.

The fundraiser was well attended and a contribution of $5.00 bought a ball park style hot dog with all of the fixings for a Chicago, New York or Texas style dog, chips, and beverage. The event began at 11:30 a.m. and was followed by a complimentary annual Häagen-Dazs ice cream social at 1:00. During this time guests enjoyed games, raffles and our amazing silent auction. They were able to donate 100% of all contributions to the American Cancer Society because Williams Square employees, vendors and wonderful donating companies provided all labor, games, donations and food for this event. Together  they raised over $7,000 this year!
