Fair Park is rolling out the welcome wagon for the opening weekend of Summer Adventures in Fair Park on May 4-5, 2013 More than 50 street entertainment acts are scheduled to perform free throughout the weekend inside the 277-acre historic park.
When you arrive at the Summer Adventures in Fair Park gates, you can purchase Passports, onto which spending money for the day can be loaded for purchasing food, souvenir shopping and playing games. The pay-one-price admission includes a visit to enjoy slithery sea creatures in the Children’s Aquarium, exotic butterflies in the Texas Discovery Gardens, and a ride on the Swan Boats on the lagoon.
Nowhere else will visitor comforts surpass those found at Summer Adventures in Fair Park. Endless shade structures, misters, play pools, pop up geysers, splashy rides and water attractions rope in the lazy days of the season to make family memories outdoors. Something for everyone will include a practice putting green, a hammock snooze for Dad in Sleepy Hollow, an icy beverage and wifi access in the Pelican Bay Bar & Grill, and 16-mic karaoke sing-offs in the Giant Sing Along. All part of the 50 rides shows and attractions available at Summer Adventures in Fair Park. The pay-one-price admission includes hijinks on the high seas with
Captain Kids Theater, slap-stick Mynah birds, beach band music, sand castles and construction zone blocks.
Fair Park Events and Museum
The Old Mill Inn restaurant, along with the Hall of State, African American Museum, Children’s Aquarium at Fair Park, Texas Discovery Gardens, and Natural Science Museum, will be easily accessible via a free tram service traversing the park from the Fair Park DART Station entrance on Parry.
The Fair Park Esplanade fountains will offer visitors exciting shows set to music. In all, 272 water jets spray some 100 feet into the air at times. More than 170 white lights lining the jets, pool and surrounding buildings, will create special effects to the musical numbers.
The Dallas Summer Musicals will present the final four performances of the Broadway musical Wicked at the Music Hall Visit Dallas Summer Musicals for information regarding availability of tickets on the musical’s final weekend in Fair Park.

Get your tickets online. Admission to Summer Adventures in Fair Park is $29.95 for adults. Tickets for seniors (65 & over) and children ages 3 to 48” in height are $24.95.
The month of May is McDonald’s sneak-a-peek preview month. Visit an area McDonalds for discount coupons. DART light rail service drops off at the Fair Park Station where trams will provide a short ride to all of the museums and the entrance to Summer Adventures.
