The “Cool Thursdays” concert series at the Dallas Arboretum, sponsored by Wells Fargo Bank, is back in action. Overlooking the picturesque White Rock Lake on the Martin Rutchik Concert Stage and Lawn, the “Cool Thursdays” concert series tickets are selling fast and selling out. This year the series will kick off on April 9, 2015 with a new band, Rocket Man: The Elton John Tribute Experience.
Rocket Man gives an insanely energetic performance time after time, throwing around jams such as “Saturday Night’s Alright” and “Pinball Wizard” before sending audiences exploding into space with extended 70’s instrumental versions of “Rocket Man,” “Goodbye Yellow Brick Road” and “Levon.” With thousands of performances under their belts ranging from festivals, to concert halls, to casinos, to cruise liners, Rocket Man musicians actually portray Elton John’s intense 70’s & 80’s concerts down to the finest detail.
For Rocket Man, sponsored by Herb’s Paint and Body, guests are encouraged to participate in the weekly costume contest to win prizes. This week’s theme is to come dressed in your best stage costume rhinestones required, glasses optional for the “Tiny Dancer Award.”
In addition to the coolest view of White Rock Lake, you can bring picnics and beverages or purchase food from food trucks including Easy Sliders, Rock-N-Ricks and What ‘s Da Scoop?. The gardens are also open to stroll through before the concert to enjoy the stunning floral spring displays.
