It’s Restaurant Week in Dallas!!

I never miss an opportunity to visit one of the best steakhouses in Dallas offering the restaurant week price of $35 which includes a delicious steak dinner (plus an appetizer, bread, salad, all the sides AND dessert). It’s become our yearly ritual, and we like to choose a new restaurant every year. This year, we decided to dine at III Forks.

III Forks

When we arrived at III Forks (the place is massive with 25,000 sq feet of elegant dining), we were greeted by about 10 hostesses (not kidding) and music was being lightly played on the grand piano in the entryway.  We started off with the Appetizer Course (don’t forget to bring your certificate from Central Market to receive a complimentary appetizer, we had ours ready on the table when our waiter arrived). The Bleu Cheese Beef Croustade (beef tenderloin with bleu cheese atop garlic toast points) was wonderful! Also, we had homemade bread alongside the croustade.

For the First Course (III Forks Salad or Red Lentil Soup with coriander cured duck), we all chose the III Forks Salad, which I would go visit again just for that salad! YUM. The Entrée Choice was: Flame Roasted Beef Tenderloin with sauce charon or Macadamia Nut Crusted Mahi Mahi in a lime ginger buerre blanc (both are served with potatoes, sugar snap peas and off-the-cob cream corn.) We opted for the tenderloin, which was very good, but the off-the-cob-cream corn was our favorite; you just have to try it! I didn’t think we had any room left, but dessert is included so what the heck. We opted for the  Chocolate Mousse. Great end to a wonderful meal!

This year’s KRLD Restaurant Week includes more than 130 restaurants offering three-course prix fixe meals for $35 to raise funds for the North Texas Food Bank and Lena Pope Home – is August 17 through August 23. A number of participating restaurants are extending the promotion for an extra week: August 24-August 30.
